Derrick Siew entered hospitality through Stewarding in Singapore at 16 and later studied hotel management in Switzerland. He spent approximately six years working in Taiwan before relocating to mainland China in 2009. His subsequent Marriott career included hotel-management assignments in Suzhou, Beijing, Hainan and Macau.
