Last updated: 13 October 2026. How personal information is handled in our editorial and technical operations.
Scope and who this notice concerns
This notice explains how personal information may be handled when someone visits Luxe Adviser, submits a correction, contacts the editorial team or appears in professional editorial coverage. It should be read with the Terms of Use.
Luxe Adviser is an independent editorial research platform. Browsing public rankings and profiles does not require registration or a paid account. This notice does not describe the privacy practices of independent third-party websites linked from the platform.
Information you provide
If you contact us, we may receive your name, email address, correspondence, any records or source links you supply and the information needed to assess your enquiry. The corrections form requests a public record URL, subject area, description and evidence URL.
Please provide only information necessary for the enquiry. Do not submit passwords, identity documents, financial information, private medical details or other sensitive information through the corrections form. If sensitive information is received inadvertently, we may restrict or delete it where appropriate.
Technical and usage information
When a visitor accesses the site, hosting, content delivery and security infrastructure may process IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs, browser or device information, referral information and diagnostic or security logs. These records can be necessary to deliver pages, investigate faults and protect the service.
Technical information may be processed by infrastructure providers acting on our behalf or independently under their own terms. We do not treat every technical identifier as anonymous; an IP address or other identifier may be personal data under applicable law.
Professional information in editorial profiles
Our coverage may include publicly available professional information about general managers, designers, advisers, critics and other people active in hospitality. Examples include professional names, roles, employer or hotel affiliations, appointment dates, career history and industry recognition.
We aim to limit coverage to information relevant to public professional activity and to avoid unnecessary private details. Public availability does not remove the need to consider accuracy, fairness, context and applicable privacy rights.
Purposes of processing
Information may be used to operate and secure the website; answer enquiries; assess and document corrections; verify sources; maintain editorial records; resolve duplicate identities; investigate misuse; and comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use correction submissions as a means to sell contact details. Any materially different use of personal information should be assessed against applicable law and, where required, accompanied by appropriate notice or consent.
Legal bases and legitimate interests
Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, processing may rely on legitimate interests in operating a secure editorial publication, verifying professional facts and responding to correspondence; on consent where required; or on compliance with legal obligations. The applicable basis depends on the particular processing activity and jurisdiction.
Legitimate interests are not an unrestricted permission to collect information. We consider necessity, proportionality and the interests and rights of affected individuals. Editorial and journalistic exemptions may apply in some jurisdictions, subject to local law.
Forms, correspondence and editorial evidence
Correction submissions may be received and stored through Netlify Forms and made accessible to authorised people reviewing the request. Supporting URLs or materials may be retained to document why a record was changed or left unchanged.
If you submit information about another person, please ensure it is relevant, factual and appropriately sourced. Submitting a correction does not make the submission confidential in all circumstances; information may need to be checked against third-party sources, but unnecessary personal details should not be disclosed.
Cookies, storage and analytics
Browsers and infrastructure services may use essential storage or similar technologies for site delivery, security and functionality. The precise technologies in use can change as hosting and features evolve.
We should not be understood to promise that the site uses no cookies, analytics or third-party requests without a current technical audit. Where non-essential tracking or consent-dependent technologies are introduced, the site should provide the disclosures and choices required by applicable law.
External services and embedded content
Pages may link to hotels, award publishers, maps or other independent sites, and may display assets served by third parties. Opening an external link or loading externally hosted content can involve data collection by the relevant provider.
Those providers determine their own practices. We encourage readers to review their privacy notices. A link or reference does not imply that Luxe Adviser controls the provider or endorses its privacy practices.
Disclosure and service providers
Personal information may be accessible to service providers that support hosting, security, forms and site operations, and to authorised people handling editorial enquiries. Information may also be disclosed where legally required, to protect rights or security, or in connection with a lawful business reorganisation.
We seek to limit access and disclosure to what is appropriate for the purpose. We do not claim that every external service is a processor acting solely on our instructions; some may act as independent controllers.
International processing
The platform is available internationally, and technical infrastructure or service providers may process information in countries other than the visitor’s own. Privacy protections and legal requirements vary by jurisdiction.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, appropriate measures should be used. This notice does not assert that a particular transfer mechanism applies without verification of the relevant provider and processing arrangement.
Retention and deletion
We retain correspondence, corrections evidence and operational records for as long as reasonably necessary for their purposes, including editorial accountability, security and applicable legal obligations. Different records may require different retention periods.
We do not currently publish a verified fixed retention schedule for each system. A request for deletion will be assessed against applicable rights and legitimate reasons to preserve records, including the integrity of a public editorial archive.
Security and incident response
We aim to use proportionate technical and organisational safeguards to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, loss and misuse. No website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
If an incident affects personal information, its significance and any notification duties should be assessed under applicable law. Please do not send sensitive personal records through the general corrections form.
Your rights and editorial records
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. You may also have a right to complain to a competent data protection authority.
Rights are not absolute. Requests concerning accurate professional editorial records may require balancing data protection, freedom of expression, archival interests and legal obligations. We may need to verify the requester’s identity before acting.
Children and sensitive information
The platform is intended as a general-interest editorial reference about hospitality, not a service directed to children. We do not seek to collect children’s personal information through editorial submissions.
Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information about yourself or others. If such information is identified in a submission, we may remove it from the editorial workflow or take other appropriate steps.
Changes to this notice
This notice may be revised as the platform, its service providers or applicable laws change. The page should show the date of the latest substantive update. Material changes should be communicated in an appropriate way where required by law.
A privacy notice should reflect actual processing, not merely intended policy. Technical claims, named providers and retention commitments should be reviewed whenever site infrastructure changes.
Privacy enquiries
For privacy questions or requests concerning information about you, contact info@luxeadviser.com. Please describe the relevant record or interaction and avoid including unnecessary sensitive information in your initial message.
For a factual inaccuracy in a published hotel or professional profile, the Corrections page is also available. The identity and legal address of the responsible operator should be added to this notice once formally confirmed.
