88 Xintiandi was a 53-room boutique hotel in Shanghai’s restored shikumen quarter, with accommodation opening onto the pedestrian lanes of Xintiandi. Part of Shui On Land’s early regeneration of the district, the property ceased hotel operations before redevelopment into retail space began in July 2014. Its identity now belongs to the neighbourhood’s hospitality history.
