Ace Hotel Kyoto inhabits part of the historic Kyoto Central Telephone Office, joined to a contemporary wing within the ShinPuhKan complex. Kengo Kuma's architectural intervention preserves the building's industrial past, while interiors developed with Commune Design mix Japanese craft and playful contemporary references. Restaurants and independent shops make the surrounding courtyard an active neighbourhood destination.
