Imperial Hotel Tokyo
The Imperial has occupied a singular place in Tokyo hospitality since 1890, when it opened as a state guesthouse beside Hibiya. Frank Lloyd Wright’s celebrated 1923 building is gone, but the hotel’s continuity at the same address remains its defining asset: a living institution whose next major architectural chapter is already being planned.
