SHIGUCHI
SHIGUCHI occupies a private wooded estate in the Niseko countryside, where five historic kominka farmhouses have been reconstructed as accommodation. Heavy timber frames, art and crafted furnishings establish the rooms’ distinctive character, while forest views and open countryside shape the experience beyond them. The project reflects founder Shouya Grigg’s interest in Japanese vernacular architecture and contemporary culture.
