TAYUTA occupies an island setting in Amakusa, Kumamoto Prefecture, within the Unzen-Amakusa National Park landscape. Opened in 2024, the 12-room retreat follows the changing light and tides of the surrounding inland sea. Rooms, seasonal seafood and an understated architectural language establish a close relationship with Hiai Island’s shoreline and the rhythms of island life.
