The Opposite House
The Opposite House was a landmark design hotel in Beijing's Sanlitun district, opening in 2008 within a low-rise building conceived by Kengo Kuma. Guestrooms surrounded a courtyard-like central atrium, drawing on Chinese residential traditions through contemporary architecture. The hotel closed in June 2024, and its former site is being redeveloped as a retail destination within Taikoo Li Sanlitun.
