A restrained black tower on Osaka's Midosuji boulevard conceals the exuberant interiors of W Osaka. Tadao Ando oversaw the building's minimalist exterior, while colour and playful detailing take over inside. The contrast suits a city whose established commercial streets sit close to the restless nightlife of Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori.
