Asaba
Asaba has welcomed travellers to Shuzenji since the fifteenth century, when the Asaba family began lodging visitors beside the temple. The ryokan's lakeside Noh stage, transferred from Tokyo in the Meiji era, remains a focal point for traditional performances. Gardens, hot-spring bathing and seasonal cuisine preserve the intimate character of this historic Japanese inn.
