The Peninsula Shanghai

Opened on the Bund in 2009, The Peninsula Shanghai was one of the rare modern additions to a riverfront defined by early-20th-century architecture. Its interiors deliberately pick up that context through an Art Deco vocabulary, while views across the Huangpu to Pudong make the hotel a particularly clear meeting point between Shanghai’s historic façade and its contemporary skyline.
